1. 선염 색동의 이해[프린트와 선염색동 차이]

프린트 색동은 흰 원단에 DTP(디지털 텍스타일 프린팅) 기계로 색동 패턴을 직접 출력하는 방식입니다. 색과 색이 맞닿는 경계에서 미세한 번짐이 생길 수 있고, 뒷면은 염색되지 않은 본래 상태로 남습니다.

반면 선염 색동은 실, 즉 원사 단계부터 색상별로 염색한 뒤 직접 천을 짜는 전통 방식입니다.
원사 염색을 시작으로, 세로실을 정렬하고 준비하는 전경 작업에만 일주일이 소요되며, 제직기 세팅과 본 제직, 수지 가공을 거쳐 컷팅과 포장에 이르기까지 여러 단계의 복잡한 공정이 이어집니다.
색과 색 사이 경계가 선명하고 또렷합니다.
앞면과 뒷면 모두에 반전된 동일한 무늬가 그대로 구현됩니다.

1. Understanding the Yarn Dyed [Difference between Print and Yarn Dyed Saekdong]
Print chromaticity is a method of directly printing the chromatic patterns with a digital textile printing (DTP) machine on a white fabric. Fine smudges can occur at the color-to-color boundary, and the backside remains undyed.

On the other hand, Yarn-dyed Saekdong is a traditional method of dyeing yarn by color from the yarn, that is, yarn stage, and then weaving cloth ourselves.
Starting with yarn dyeing, it takes a week just for the foreground work to align and prepare the vertical thread, followed by a complex process of several steps from weaving setting, weaving, and resin processing to cutting and packaging.
The boundary between color and color is clear and clear.
The same inverted pattern is implemented on both the front and back.

2. 커스텀 제작(개인이 원하는 색상 제작)

보석단 무늬 커스텀

보석단은 천 위에 무늬가 짜여 들어가는 자카드 방식 색동입니다.
무늬를 바꾸려면 디자인을 새롭게 설계하고 직조 구조 자체를 다시 짜야 하기 때문에 별도 디자인 작업 비용이 발생합니다. (의장 비용 : 15~20만원)

기존에 사용하던 색상 외에 새로운 색상이 필요한 경우에는 원사 염색부터 새로 진행해야 합니다. 커스텀을 원하신다면 제작 전 반드시 먼저 상담을 통해 조직 설계를 함께 진행해주세요.

세로 색상 커스텀

색동 세로 줄 색상이나 간격을 바꾸고 싶으시다면, 원사 염색 단계부터 새롭게 시작해야 합니다. 제직 전에 세로실을 정렬하고 준비하는 '전경' 작업에서 색상과 간격을 결정하게 되며, 이 단계가 지나면 변경이 불가능합니다. 전경 작업에만 약 일주일이 소요됩니다.

주문 수량과 비용은 아래와 같이 적용됩니다.

제작 기본 단위는 1,500야드이며, 이보다 적은 수량은 아래와 같이 추가 비용이 발생합니다.

1,000야드 주문 시 → 1,500야드 기준 총 금액 / 1000 = 야드당 금액
500야드 주문 시 → 1,500야드 기준 총 금액 / 500 = 야드당 금액

커스텀 제작에는 기본 가격에서 10%가 추가되며, 제작 기간은 주문 확정 후 약 15일~1개월 정도가 소요됩니다.

2. Customization (Individual Colour Creation)

Ajacquard-style color movement in which patterns are woven on the fabric.
In order to change the pattern, the design needs to be redesigned and the weaving structure itself needs to be reworked, so there is a separate design work cost. (Design cost: KRW 150,000~200,000)

If you need a new color other than the existing color, you have to dye the yarn first. If you want to customize it, please consult with us first to design the organization.

Vertical Color Customization
If you want to change the color or spacing of the colored vertical line, you need to start over from the yarn dyeing step. The 'foreground' task of aligning and preparing the vertical line before weaving determines the color and spacing, which is not possible after this step. The foreground work alone takes about a week.

The order quantity and cost will be applied as follows.
The basic unit of fabrication is 1,500 yards, and any quantity less will incur additional costs as shown below.
If you order 1,000 yards → Total amount based on 1,500 yards / 1000 = Amount per yard
If you order 500 yards → Total amount based on 1,500 yards / 500 = Amount per yard

Custom production will be added 10% from the base price, and the production period will take about 15 days to 1 month after the order is confirmed.

3. 사진 및 영상 촬영 문의 안내

최근 촬영 및 기사 제작, 공간 대여에 관한 문의가 부쩍 늘어나고 있습니다. 색동공장에 보내주시는 관심에 진심으로 감사드립니다.
다만 현재 공장이 실제로 운영 중인 만큼, 생산 일정에 차질이 생기거나 안전사고가 발생하지 않도록 사전에 충분한 협의 후 진행해 주실 것을 부탁드립니다. 방문 전 미리 문의해 주시면 보다 원활하고 안전하게 함께할 수 있습니다.

방송 촬영, 기사 제작, 사진 촬영 등을 원하시는 분들은 먼저 이메일 또는 채널을 통해 문의해 주세요. 희망하시는 날짜와 촬영 목적을 함께 알려주시면 일정 조율 및 가능 여부를 확인한 후 안내해 드리겠습니다.

촬영은 공장 생산에 차질이 없도록 사전에 충분히 협의한 후 진행됩니다. 일방적인 방문이나 촬영은 어려울 수 있으니 반드시 사전 문의 후 확정해 주시기 바랍니다.

촬영이 완료된 후에는 완성된 기사나 영상 링크 공유, 그리고 촬영된 사진 일부를 색동공장 측에도 공유해 주시면 감사하겠습니다.

3. Information about photography and video shooting inquiries
Recently, inquiries about filming, article production, and space rental are increasing. Thank you very much for your interest in the Saekdong factory.
However, as the factory is actually operating, we ask you to proceed after sufficient consultation in advance so that there will be no disruptions in the production schedule or safety accidents. If you contact us in advance before visiting, we can do it more smoothly and safely.

If you want to shoot a broadcast, produce an article, or take a picture, please contact us by email or channel first. If you let me know the date you want and the purpose of the shooting, I will let you know after I adjust the schedule and check if it is possible.

Filming is carried out after sufficient consultation in advance so that there is no disruption to factory production. One-sided visits or filming may be difficult, so please make sure to contact us in advance and confirm.

After the shooting is completed, I would appreciate it if you could share the completed article, video link, and some of the photographs taken to the Saekdong factory as well.

견학은 사전 예약제로 운영되며, 5인 이상 15인 이하 단체를 기준으로 진행됩니다. 희망 날짜와 인원을 미리 문의해 주시면 일정을 확정해 드립니다.

평일 : 매주 수요일 오후 4시 ~ 6시
주말 : 매주 토요일 오후 4시 ~ 6시

견학 소요 시간은 약 1시간이며, 견학비는 무료입니다.

견학 프로그램

단순히 공장을 둘러보는 것을 넘어, 색동이 만들어지는 전 과정을 직접 눈으로 확인하고 느낄 수 있도록 구성하였습니다.

선염 색동 생산 라인 전체를 투어하며, 공정 단계별로 상세한 설명을 들을 수 있습니다. 견학 후 브랜드 담당자와 협업이나 소재 구매를 고려하시는 분들께 도움을 드릴 예정입니다.
또한 샤넬 화보 촬영이 이루어진 공간을 포함한 공장 내 포토존에서 자유롭게 사진 촬영도 가능합니다.

안전 수칙

현재 실제로 운영 중인 공장인 만큼, 안전을 위해 아래 사항을 반드시 지켜주시기 바랍니다.

기계 및 원단에는 손을 대지 않습니다.
견학 공간 이외의 구역에는 임의로 들어가지 않습니다.

4. a factory tour guide
📢We are currently preparing a field trip program.
Please check the information below in advance and make a reservation before visiting.

Tour schedule and reservation
The field trip is based on an advance reservation system and is based on groups of 5 or more and 15 or less. If you contact us in advance about the desired date and number of people, we will confirm the schedule.
Weekdays: Every Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m
Weekends: Every Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m
The field trip takes about an hour, and the field trip is free.

A field trip program
Beyond simply looking around the factory, it is organized so that you can see and feel the entire process of creating color movement with your own eyes.
We will tour the entire line of sun-dye colored copper production and listen to detailed explanations for each step of the process. After the tour, we will help those who are considering collaborating with the brand representative or purchasing materials.
In addition, you can take pictures freely in the photo zone in the factory, including the space where Chanel photoshoots took place.

Safety rules
As it is a factory that is actually operating, please make sure to follow the following for safety.
- Do not touch the machine and fabric.
- It does not enter areas other than the field trip space arbitrarily.
- Follow the guide's path.

5. 전시 협업

색동공장은 브랜드와 함께 공간을 채우고 이야기를 만드는 전시 협업을 진행합니다.

협업을 원하시는 경우, 전시 소개 자료와 함께 어떤 방식의 협업을 원하시는지 구체적인 방안을 먼저 제안해 주세요.
색동 디자인 선택부터 굿즈 제작까지 함께 협의하며 진행하고, 색동공장 로고 및 인스타그램 계정을 상호 공유하는 것을 기본 원칙으로 합니다.

브랜드 팝업스토어 안에 색동 원단을 활용한 설치물을 제작하거나, 브랜드의 아이덴티티 컬러를 반영한 커스텀 색동 원단을 만들어 공간에 활용할 수 있습니다.(제작 기간 및 비용 발생)
또한 색동이 만들어지는 제작 과정을 영상과 사진으로 기록해 브랜드 스토리텔링 콘텐츠로 활용하는 것도 가능합니다.

5. exhibition collaboration
The Saekdong factory conducts exhibition collaborations that fill spaces and create stories with brands.

It is a basic principle to discuss and proceed with the selection of colored copper design to the production of goods, and to share the logo of the colored copper factory and Instagram account with each other.

This kind of collaboration is possible
You can create an installation using colored fabric in the brand pop-up store, or create a custom colored fabric that reflects the brand's identity color and use it in the space. (Production period and cost are incurred)
It is also possible to record the production process in which color movement is created with videos and photos and use them as brand storytelling content.

What Saekdong Factory Can Give You
We will rent a factory space with 40 years of history as a background for filming and exhibition, and provide a story of the production process in which color movement is born as content.

6. 브랜드 콜라보

색동공장은 다양한 브랜드와 함께 색동의 가치를 새로운 방식으로 풀어내는 콜라보레이션을 진행하고 있습니다. 협업 결과물에는 '브랜드 × 색동공장'을 함께 명기하며, 제품 및 홍보 이미지에 색동공장을 소개하는 것을 기본으로 합니다.

협업은 이렇게 진행됩니다

브랜드 방향성 미팅과 소재 상담을 시작으로, 컬러와 디자인을 함께 협의합니다. 이후 샘플을 제작하고 검토하는 과정을 거쳐 한정 수량 공동 생산으로 이어지며, 출시와 함께 공동 홍보까지 함께 진행합니다.

색동공장과 함께해야 하는 이유

색동공장은 국내 마지막 선염 색동 직물공장입니다. 이는 큰 상징성을 갖고 있습니다. 전통 가치를 함께 담아낼 수 있으며, 협업 브랜드에는 어디서도 쉽게 얻을 수 없는 전통 직물 기술 기반의 차별화된 브랜드 스토리가 함께 합니다.

6. Brand collaboration
The Saekdong Factory is collaborating with various brands to unlock the value of Saekdong in a new way. The result of the collaboration is 'Brand × Saekdong Factory' and it is based on the introduction of the Saekdong Factory in the product and promotional image.

This is how the collaboration goes
Starting with brand direction meetings and material consultations, we discuss color and design together. After that, the sample is produced and reviewed, leading to a limited number of joint production, and joint promotion is carried out together with launch.

Why it should be with the Saekdong Factory
The Saekdong factory is the last Saekdong textile factory in Korea. It has great symbolism. Traditional values can be captured together, and collaborative brands come with differentiated brand stories based on traditional textile technologies that cannot be easily obtained anywhere.
